Sample question · Done and Undone
At the end of the Sprint one selected item is functionally complete but has not passed the security review required by the Definition of Done. What happens with it?
- AIt returns to the Product Backlog for future consideration and is not presented as Done
- BIt is presented at the Sprint Review as work in progress with the gap explained
- CIt counts as Done if the Product Owner accepts the remaining risk
- DIt moves automatically into the next Sprint Backlog with the review as a follow-up
Explanation
The Definition of Done commitment states that if a Product Backlog item does not meet the Definition of Done, it cannot be released or even presented at the Sprint Review and returns to the Product Backlog for future consideration. Whether it is selected again is a Product Owner ordering decision, not an automatic carry-over.
